Gold Filled Classic Ring Setting

Description Gold Filled Classic Ring Setting handmade with a 1.8mm wide 14k gold filled wire. Learn more about types of gold in my blog here, these are not solid gold! Does not include ashes etc as shown in the pictures. These rings take up to two weeks to produce and send unless otherwise stated because they are custom made in house from scratch by Nikki. Single round and oval settings are perfect for use with our round cabochon moulds and our oval cabochon moulds, available wholesale on request. All styles are suitable for direct pour (filling with resin). Duo rings are suitable only for direct pouring or filling technique (or glue-in but this isn’t advised). We recommend you buy an 8mm small gold filled necklace setting (coming soon) to accompany this ring and once you’ve made the cabochon stones you can offer to set the other one as a necklace for a small extra charge (£40 or so). Around half of your customers will take you up on this (just be sure to tell them you’ll still return the extra stone even if they don’t pay!) You’ll also need to provide yourself (not included):  LED UV torch** or a good UV lamp for professionals curved burnisher for settings using a cabochon stone (optional) a pestle and mortar (optional) Ultra Fine Sharpie (optional) 200g bottle of Padico Star Drop (optional) pre-mixed resin sparkle mix (or buy loose and mix with resin before using) Follow our tutorials here to prepare your clients’ elements or buy a pack of 5 or 10 sachets of Breastmilk Preservation Powder here! *Some settings are only suitable for a mould and some only for direct pour, some are hybrid. We usually include practice settings plus a compatible mould if there is one. Direct Pour Video Tutorials Cabochon Stone Video Tutorials Ring Stock Images You can order some ring stock images here (gold filled coming soon) to show your clients some mockups before they buy (please remember the instructions for use advise you to tell your clients results will vary!). Round Wire Stacking Ring Setting Sizes These round or classic wire rings are available in UK half sizes and US quarter sizes, please let us know in the comments and choose the size below. For example, if you would like a UK size P1/2 ring, please choose UK P and say in the comments “size P1/2”. 1.6mm round band. Please note, we recommend that you advise your customer to consider taking away half or quarter of a UK ring size to their best fit on these comfort fit bands. For example, if they are a UK size L on a normal ring sizer, the might advise them to go for a size K½. We will make whatever size you request and it depends on your clients’ understanding (you can confuse them sometimes with this, but if they want it a little on the snug side so it doesn’t twist then go down that extra bit). Comfort Fit for Arthritis/Swollen Joints Comfort fit bands like this Gold Filled Classic Ring Setting are ideal for clients with arthritis and swollen joints etc. If you’d like us to press the ring into a slight oval shape for clients with arthritis/swollen knuckles please let us know in the comments. We recommend sizing the client’s finger and not the joint, the oval shape will help them get the ring on and because it can then be more true-to-size, it’s less likely to slip. 14k Gold Filled Settings These handmade rings are made of 14k gold filled wire and bezel cups using 9ct or 14ct gold solder. Please see our blog on Types of Gold which explains the care instructions for the gold filled setting and the metal content. You can advertise these as 14k gold filled, 14ct gold-filled etc but please make sure to make it very clear in your title and product description that this setting is not solid gold, it is not marked or hallmarked! Gold filled settings are exempt from hallmarking under UK law, please familiarise yourself with the laws on selling gold filled in your country before purchasing. Unlike gold vermeil (gold plated solid silver), the gold in gold-filled settings is mechanically bonded in a thick layer so is unlikely to wear off or ever need plating. Gold filled is a wonderful budget alternative to solid gold, and is more long lasting than gold vermeil. Available 4, 5 or 6mm round or 8x6mm oval please let us know in the comments. Not available in heart or teardrop yet sorry. Polishing Cloths Customers may wish to give their rings a quick polish before sending, you can buy a gold polishing cloth from us here.
